The next time you meet someone you want to help or get help from, just remember that being kind is always the best option.
How can I help you? may be very plain and straightforward, but it could be how you help someone else start to enjoy life to the fullest!
There’re so many problems in this world such that to have fewer of them is technically a bargain. But life should not be weighed on who has more problems versus who has less. Life is beautiful and should be enjoyed to the fullest.
On the surface, it looks plain and straightforward; however, behind these words lie a lot of information Jesus wanted his disciples to know and apply when they gathered to pray as a group or individually. I will point out four things this verse teaches and show why they are relevant today. Ready? Let’s get straight to it!
Earlier, we recognized the importance of food to our bodies. In its own way, food sustains life. As humans, we recognize this fact and make sure we are always fed. Our bodies are nourished, and we get strength from the food we eat to live and work. However, our physical relationship with food, is only a reminder of what our spiritual relationship with God and his word is supposed to be.
Each time we are faced with a new year, whether as an individual or a company, we tend to set targets that we want to reach by the end of the year. These resolutions we make are supposed to drive us and/or encourage us to overcome the internal or external limitations that will keep us from our goals. More often than not, we fail a few days into our resolutions for the year and this is not entirely because the resolutions by themselves are bad nor is it because the person setting them is weak. Usually, the simple reason is that our approach towards resolutions are wrong!I want to suggest a few things you can do that will actually help you make smart resolutions and see them through. These pointers have been helpful to me and I hope they help you too.
If I may ask, are you ever completely in control of the story of your life? Do you have full knowledge of what will happen and why they should happen to you? Can you say with absolute certainty that you know everything about yourself? How about all the other characters your story have within them? It is safe to say that the uncertainties we face in our lives, rule us out as being the ultimate story-tellers of our lives. Check this out, we do not even decide where or how we are born, and birth, as we all know, is where our story begins. Someone else must definitely be telling the stories of our lives!
Thankfully, we know who that person is!
… the question I want to address in this post is: How do you find a constant in this constantly changing times? I’ll try to show you that though the waters may look murky all around and the spaces occupied by quicksand keeps expanding around us, there is still a safety net, a solid rock, that is accessible to all. There’s still a reason to be hopeful and expectant in times when the situations around us dictate the opposite response of giving up or losing hope is better.
I think deep down in all of us, we feel seriously flawed in one way or the other. Like a defective product, we don’t know if we were born that way or it was something that was just deposited and grew as we grew up. If you’re being honest, you’ve probably realized this and noticed that no matter what you do, it doesn’t seem to go away. This flaw seems to draw certain mistakes out of you and it feels like a pile of unpaid debt keeps accumulating. One that you don’t know exactly how to pay, but believe can be paid nonetheless.
