Hold The Line: Resist The Devil

I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”

Genesis 22 : 17-18 (New International Version)

In a time when nothing is outrightly black or white and everything is viewed in shades of grey, it is absolutely important to know where to draw lines that keep you protected and safe. What do I mean by this? Take truth for one. To discuss it nowadays is to waste time going in circles without settling on any one point. Reality is that the truth is one and anyone who strays from it denies that one truth. In the end, we become conflicted as individuals and as a society: problems multiply in that confusion as the very foundations of humanity cracks and breaks.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 14 : 6 (New King James Version)

Allow me to expand on this a bit. We all know at some level that the devil is real and if that’s the case then God is real too. You simply cannot go with one without the other. If evil exists, good must exist too as light contrasts darkness. However, to make the devil a figment of collective imagination exposes us to the harms of that ignorance. So, to stay safe, it’s necessary to revere truth—the truth.

So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.

James 4 : 7 (Amplified Bible)

Next is to resist the devil. You have to know that the devil will stop at nothing to bring harm your way. Just as God will stop at nothing to bless you. Don’t give the devil an inch in your thoughts, words, actions or deeds. Hold on to the line of your life with the truths of God about you and your family, business, health and future and keep raising that bar till the devil is completely out!
